HSSE Safety Shift Manager
The HSSE Safety Shift Manager plays a key role in the tactical execution of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) requirements across terminal operations. This position is responsible for identifying risks, responding to incidents, supporting compliance processes, monitoring data, and driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Recognize and address HSSE risks during assigned shifts
- Respond to incidents and HSSE concerns while coordinating corrective actions
- Support and approve critical HSSE processes, including risk assessments, permits to work, and management of change activities
- Prepare reports and analyze operational HSSE data
- Conduct inspections, audits, and gemba activities
- Maintain accurate information within company databases and Microsoft applications
- Support HSSE problem-solving initiatives using Lean methodologies
- Coordinate external vendors, security personnel, and other stakeholders as required
- Collaborate with terminal and corporate HSSE teams to strengthen operational safety performance

What We're Looking For
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who is passionate about safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, STEM, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related discipline
- Up to 3 years of experience in Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE)
- Strong written communication and reporting skills
- Experience developing presentations and analyzing data
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and databases
- Knowledge of HSSE regulations and management practices is highly desirable
- Lean-minded: we are looking for someone who brings a strong mindset of continuous improvement, someone who is naturally curious, committed to solving problems at the root, and driven to make things better every day.
Working Environment
Terminal operations run 24/7. This role generally supports a 40-hour work week within assigned shift schedules and may require participation in on-call support, emergency response activities, and periodic weekend or off-hours work.
Salary: $120K - $130K
Location: Los Angeles, CA
