Slitter Operator - Elk Grove Village, IL
Our client, a leading organization in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented entry-level Slitter Operator to join their team.
Job Title: Slitter Operator (entry-level)
Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Pay: $22 per/hr
Shift: 10pm-6am
What's the Job?
Pickup coils from the cutting area and places them on the slitter machine.3.2 Verifies that slitting sheet corresponding to the coils that are cut, is properly filled: ex. width, cut card, article number, mother coil meters, product description, etc.
3.3 Mounts cutting coil on machine.
3.4 Adjust the band guide accordingly to the required material width.
3.5 Verifies slitting data sheet to prepare the slitter and prepare packing material to use depending on the product.
3.6 Cuts necessary Cores for daughter coils confirming the width of these coils on the slitting sheet.
3.7 Edits the tags placed on the daughter coils for their identification and delivery to the customer, verifying data such as: operator reference, customer, product description, footage, weight etc.
3.8 Mounts cores corresponding to the width of the reels, described on the tab's Court, on the rewinder.
3.9 Checks and adjusts machine operation conditions, depending on the product to be cut considering the width of the product and the type (empack or label).
3.10 Programs conditions on the touch screen display of the machine such as: production speed, tension, cutting pressure, daughter coil meters, maximum coil diameter, etc.
3.11 Performs required daughters’ coils joints described on the slitting sheet, taking care of the customer specifications, in terms of tape use.
3.12 Verifies and identifies corresponding flags to the generated defects in the printing and lamination processes for the corresponding scaling of mother and daughter coil.
3.18 Checks, controls and sanitizes the generated defects in the printing and lamination processes, such as: stripes, outside register, ghost spots, slitting variations, etc.
3.19 Check spotting on daughters and mother coils, measuring it, as well as scoring in the corresponding format of quality and adjusting the tension.
3.20 Dismantling daughter coils off the machine, weighing them on the scale, identifying them with their corresponding label and packing them as described on the tab of the corresponding slitting sheet.
3.21 Take a sample of each daughter coil identifying it for review and analysis of the QA department and its corresponding release.
3.22 Properly fills the slitting sheet noting the slitting meters for daughter coils, the meters of generated waste and providing a total sum for both.
