Full job description

MENTOR Adult Day Health, a member of the Sevita family, provides day programs for elders with complex medical or rehabilitative needs. This allows seniors to obtain quality healthcare while remaining active and involved in the community and continuing to live in their own homes. Our programs are staffed with qualified, experienced licensed nurses and caregivers who are trained to provide individual assistance to each person we serve.


Program Assistant – Adult Day

Program Assistant – Adult Day | Russian Speaking

📍 Location: Rainbow of Rockville Adult Day Health Center
🏢 Address: 11215 Woodglen Dr, Rockville, MD 20852
💰 Wage: $18.00/hour
🕐 Schedule: Full-Time | 40 Hours Per Week

Weekday Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 7:30 AM–3:30 PM
Sunday Hours: 2 Sundays per month required, 9:00 AM–2:00 PM

No evenings. No on-call shifts!

⚠️ Important Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • 🗣️ Must be fluent in Russian
  • 🎵 Must be creative, energetic, and comfortable playing a musical instrument to lead engaging musical activities and keep participants entertained

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance in the daily care of health-impaired older adults or individuals with brain injuries, intellectual/developmental disabilities, emotional or behavioral disabilities, or mental health diagnoses
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individual and group activity programs
  • Support the care, safety, security, and social/recreational activities of individuals receiving services
  • Assist individuals with daily living needs, including personal hygiene, bathing, bathroom assistance, grooming, meal preparation, and medication administration
  • Provide guidance with social skills, advocacy, and self-esteem while teaching strategies to promote greater independence
  • Transport individuals to medical appointments, errands, shopping, and activities in the community

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; must be at least 18 years old
  • Minimum one year of experience providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably with older adults
  • Physical exam within the past 12 months and annual TB test
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with current registration, and insurance
  • Proficient in vital signs, weights, Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and independent ADLs
  • Competence in CPR and First Aid
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills to manage relationships
  • Reliable, responsible attitude and compassionate approach
