Full job description
Job Title: Lead Laboratory Generalist - Night Shift
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $50.63 – $64.38 per hour (based on experience)
Additional Compensation: Eligible for an additional 10% lead differential on base rate
Location: Nassau County, Long Island, NY - Onsite
Position Summary
As a Lead Laboratory Generalist, you will perform advanced laboratory testing and provide high-quality diagnostic support across multiple laboratory disciplines. Working under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, you will ensure accurate and timely clinical results while serving as a mentor and role model for laboratory staff. This leadership role requires a high level of responsibility, technical expertise, and commitment to quality patient care within a fast-paced hospital environment.
Responsibilities
Schedule / Shift
- Shift details: Night Shift, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Hours per week: 40
- Contract length (if applicable): Direct Hire
Key Duties:
- Perform laboratory testing and analysis in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
- Provide accurate and timely clinical laboratory results to support patient diagnosis and treatment
- Serve as a resource and mentor to laboratory staff, demonstrating leadership, accountability, and technical expertise
- Ensure proper utilization of laboratory equipment, supplies, and resources while maintaining quality control standards
- Collaborate with laboratory leadership to support efficient operations and high-quality patient care services
Requirements
Education
- Required: Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Medical Technology or related field
- Preferred (if applicable): N/A
Licenses & Certifications
- Required: Unrestricted New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License in good standing
- Additional certifications (if applicable): N/A
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Blood Bank, Hematology, Chemistry, and general laboratory practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor laboratory personnel
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to quality patient care
