• Night shift coverage -- 11 pm - 7 am, 8-hour shifts
• 15 - 20 shifts per month
• Typically fewer than 2 patients per hour
• Hospital setting -- emergency medicine coverage
• APP support available -- 5 total, mix of NPs and PAs
• Scribes and APP extenders on staff
• 190 visits per day on average -- high-volume ED
