GHJ Search and Staffing serves as the recruitment division of GHJ, a prominent national accounting and advisory firm. Our team provides qualified Accounting and Finance professionals on a temporary and permanent basis across a broad range of industries. GHJ’s relationship with our Global Advisory and Accounting Network provides the resources needed to better understand client’s needs, attract a higher caliber of candidates and assess candidate potential.

We are partnering with a growing organization in the Duluth area seeking a Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This hybrid opportunity is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role supporting financial reporting, month-end close, and process improvement initiatives.

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and partnering with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity
  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
