Full job description

Our client, an industry leader in Aerospace and Industrial applications, is seeking a Metallurgist to join their team. As a Metallurgist, you will be part of the Materials Testing Laboratory supporting manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization. This is a direct hire opportunity with benefits.

Job Title: Metallurgist
Location: Hanover, PA
Pay Range: $70K-$80K
Shift: 1st Shift

What's the Job?

  • Operate a variety of mechanical, physical, chemical, and metallographic test equipment to ensure material quality and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records, manage inventory of supplies, and perform scheduled preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Confirm that incoming piston ring and seal materials meet specified standards and prepare certifications for outgoing shipments.
  • Investigate and document deviations in materials and processes, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production, customer audits, and new material evaluations.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in materials testing or metallurgical analysis.
  • Knowledge of metallurgical concepts, phase diagrams, and physical properties of metals.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various laboratory and heat-treating equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
