- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement, required.
- Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
- Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
- Perform and document patient intake, including vital signs and medical history
Prepare patients and charts for provider visits
Assist providers with Menopause Care exams, procedures, and treatments within scope
Administer medications and immunizations as ordered
Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and in-office lab testing
Track and report lab results; complete required quality control documentation
Accurately document care and code visits, labs, and procedures in the EMR
Support referrals, scheduling, registration, and check-out as needed
Reinforce patient education and self-care instructions using clear language
Collaborate with providers and team members to improve workflows and patient experience
