Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

In the role of Physical Therapist Assistant, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities aimed at enhancing patients' rehabilitation experiences:

• Deliver direct physical therapy services under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, in adherence to established care plans.
• Implement treatment techniques to relieve pain and restore functional mobility, focusing on individualized patient needs.
• Guide and assist patients in performing both active and passive therapeutic exercises, promote muscle reeducation, and provide gait training.
• Assist patients with transfer activities and educate them on the proper usage of mobility devices such as wheelchairs, canes, and orthotics.
• Utilize therapeutic modalities, including heat, cold, and electrical stimulation, to aid in the rehabilitation process.
• Ongoing observation of patient responses to treatment, ensuring that any needed adjustments to care plans are communicated effectively.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, ensuring notes are recorded in a timely manner to be integrated into patients’ medical records.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives.
• Participate in educational programs to enhance professional skills and knowledge.
• Perform additional duties as required by the supervising physical therapist or organization.

Qualifications

Compensation and Benefits
