Key Responsibilities
- Implement customized treatment plans designed by licensed physical therapists, employing evidence-based techniques to aid patient recovery.
- Prepare and maintain therapy equipment, ensuring all tools are clean, functional, and readily available for treatment sessions.
- Assist in patient progress tracking, documenting treatments and outcomes in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as WebPT for seamless communication with the healthcare team.
- Facilitate patient intake processes, including scheduling appointments and gathering necessary health information to support effective continuity of care.
- Contribute to a positive and motivating atmosphere for patients; encourage their active participation in the rehabilitation process.
Patient Population / Client Focus
The focus of this role is primarily on orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic pain conditions. You will work with a varied patient demographic, including active adults, seniors, and athletes seeking to regain mobility and improve their quality of life. Providing compassionate care and patient education is central to your role, ensuring every individual feels valued and understood throughout their treatment journey.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy or completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in California.
- Minimum of two years of practical experience in an outpatient orthopedic setting or a similar environment.
- Proficiency in utilizing EMR systems, particularly WebPT, to ensure efficient patient management and documentation.
- Strong manual therapy skills, with an ability to use various treatment modalities.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in setting up and performing therapeutic modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and hot/cold therapy.
- Prior involvement in orthopedic rehabilitation, including postoperative care for joint replacements and sports injuries.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and engage patients effectively.
Compensation and Benefits
This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 75,000 to 85,000 annually , commensurate with experience and qualifications.
