Key Responsibilities
As a Physical Therapist Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting licensed Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment programs tailored to each patient's needs, specifically targeting improved mobility and physical health.
- Administering therapeutic exercises and utilizing manual therapy techniques under the guidance of the supervising Physical Therapist to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Monitoring patient progress, documenting treatment sessions accurately, and providing insights that assist in refining treatment plans.
- Educating patients and their families about prescribed exercises, strategies for injury prevention, and promoting awareness of safe movement patterns to enhance recovery and independence.
- Setting up and maintaining therapeutic equipment while ensuring compliance with safety standards, thereby facilitating a safe treatment environment.
- Maintaining up-to-date patient records and treatment documentation according to clinic protocols, which is essential for continuity of care.
- Engaging with patients and their families to discuss treatment progress and answer queries, fostering an environment of support and understanding.
- Contributing to a clean and organized treatment area, and supporting daily clinic operations, ensuring efficiency and readiness for all patient interactions.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will primarily work with patients recovering from various orthopedic injuries, including post-surgical rehabilitation, sports-related injuries, and chronic conditions requiring rehabilitative therapy. Your ability to connect with patients and provide empathetic care will be crucial as you guide them through their rehabilitation journeys, helping them regain confidence in their physical abilities.
Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License in California.
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited PTA program.
- Strong understanding of orthopedic rehabilitation techniques and treatment modalities.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with patients and healthcare team members.
- A compassionate, patient-centric approach with a genuine commitment to improving patients’ quality of life.
- CPR/BLS certification is mandatory.

Preferred Experience
