The Opportunity
We are looking for a leader to join our Directors team, who will focus on team development and support; client retention and growth; and development of Flywheel’s further expansion as the leading Digital Commerce Solution. This role requires proven Commerce experience (Media and Retail, though we appreciate and anticipate you might have a strength in one vs the other), strong people management and leadership skills, and a passion for working with clients at executive levels, from business acquisition through to ongoing growth and development.
This role will work alongside the current Commerce Leadership team across all media and retail functions, and must be filled by someone who is self-motivated, collaborative and results oriented, working under expectations set by executive management. The goal for this role is to help grow our client’s business across all media opportunities, retain clients and assist in developing our internal team.
Who You Are:
Eager to challenge the retail norms, create industry leading campaign strategy and combine best in class media skills with industry-leading retail consulting. You are familiar with how to design, develop, and deploy eCommerce retail, sales & operations strategies and services while working in tandem with our eCommerce Media teams to provide growth opportunities with new clients and existing ones. You will be an end-to-end expert of our Retail offering, growing strong client relationships, providing strategic direction to the account teams, ensuring the health of eCommerce accounts, scoping & selling projects, and developing staff.
Job Responsibilities
Account Management / Operational Excellence
Build, manage, & scale eCommerce retail practice & managed services for clients
Accountable for retail media network and operational performance on partners such as Amazon, Walmart Connect, Roundel, Instacart, Kroger, Criteo, etc.
Accountable operational performance across Paid Search Engines, Shopping, and other performance-based media tactics as needed
Centralize, monitor, adapt, and sell-in key KPIs (key performance indicators) for success to both clients and internal teams to establish clear performance goals
Be proactive in designing and over watching account level roadmaps for direct reports to monitor key client KPIs and focus team resources where needed
Experience analyzing retail sales reports and express differences in media metrics
Works to improve productivity with a consistent focus on operational excellence.
Partner with department leads and leadership on scope development and adjustment to correctly align agency resources to client opportunity
Thought Leadership & Partnership
Lead integration between eCommerce Media team and partner agencies / other agency teams to drive integrated strategy and tight collaboration
Master, identify and communicate trends in retail and client industries in POVs and thought leadership for key clients
Supports external Business Development and Marketing initiatives such as sales pitches, case studies, etc.
Lead discussions on attribution, audiences, and intent internally and externally
Clear POV on value of eRetail vs D2C and the future of eCommerce
Team Building & Motivation
Show critical thinking & problem solving daily
Ensure team has received all tools and training to excel in their roles. Accountability for team development; this includes utilizing organizational tools such as L&D, creating internal opportunity and challenges for staff, maintaining positive morale, partnering with HR and Business Leads on supporting organizational objectives
Help foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture through motivational initiatives and close contact with full team
Partner with department lead in regular staff reviews to ensure team health and resource allocations match need
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree required; concentration in Marketing or a related field is preferable
7+ years of experience with marketing / digital media
Experience in paid search, Google, Bing, and other search partners
Experience on at least one bidding platform such as Marin, Kenshoo or SA360
Large company or Advertising Agency experience preferred
Experience with retail media networks including Amazon, Walmart Connect, Roundel, Instacart, Kroger, etc. preferred
Experience in growing, managing, and inspiring internal media teams; strong leadership and administrative skills. Fosters an environment that enables action.
Proven ability to understand high-level client goals and how they translate into eCommerce strategy when applied via online technologies
Strong presentations skills
Excellent writing skills with an attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with data visualization platforms and telling data stories (i.e.. Google Data Studio, Lookr, Tablaeu, etc.)
Ability to multitask and handle other duties as assigned
$150,000 to $160,000
