What We Offer:

Novant Health Arboretum Pediatrics 51 is seeking a PRN Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)!

Work Schedule: 1-2 8-hr shifts/week Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm;

Saturday shift 8:00am-12:00pm - sign up basis;

1 major and 1 minor holiday 8:00am-1:00pm

You’ll work alongside a collaborative clinical team while building meaningful relationships with patients and supporting them throughout their care journey.

This role is ideal for candidates with previous experience working with neurology patients or in a medical office setting, though motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply!

What We're Looking For:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
    • Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
  • Experience: Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
  • Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
What You'll Do:
  • Room patients and prepare them for provider visits by collecting and documenting vital signs and relevant health information.
  • Manage patient flow to support efficient clinic operations and timely appointments.
  • Monitor and respond to electronic in-basket messages, routing information and addressing patient inquiries as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and maintain provider schedules, including appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and calendar management.
  • Accurately document patient interactions and clinical information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
