Pit Shop Auto Repair
Location: Lombard, IL
Pay Rate: $36-$60/flagged hour
Pay Type: Flat Rate
Guarantee: 30-hour weekly guarantee
Pay Schedule: Weekly
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Typical shifts 7:00 AM-6:00 PM

Pit Shop Auto Repair is hiring an experienced B-Level Automotive Technician who can handle diagnostics, general repair, and more advanced automotive work while staying productive in a busy shop.

We're looking for a technician who knows how to turn hours, takes pride in quality repairs, and is willing to work within a structured shop system. You'll have experienced technicians around you, a dedicated company trainer, and access to a hands-on training center designed to help you continue developing your skills.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns
  • Perform general automotive maintenance and repairs
  • Complete repairs based on skill level
  • Perform thorough vehicle inspections and DVIs
  • Accurately document findings and recommended repairs
  • Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining quality
  • Follow established inspection, estimating, and repair procedures
  • Communicate repair findings with the service team
  • Maintain strong productivity and consistently flag hours

Parts ordering is handled by the Parts Manager or Service Advisor, allowing technicians to stay focused on diagnosing and repairing vehicles.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional automotive repair experience
  • B-Level Automotive Technician experience
  • Strong general repair skills
  • Diagnostic and drivability abilities
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to complete repairs independently
  • Ability to work efficiently in a flat-rate environment
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to follow established shop procedures and processes
  • Coachable and comfortable working in a structured environment

ASE certifications are preferred but not required. If you pursue additional ASE certifications while employed and pass the exam, the shop will reimburse the cost of the test.

Prior DVI experience is not required. Training is provided.

Pit Shop Auto Repair has something you won't find at every independent shop: a dedicated company trainer and training center designed like a working repair shop.

Every new employee completes a mandatory two-day orientation at the training center before reporting to their assigned shop.

  • Internal systems and processes
  • Position expectations

The orientation isn't about teaching an experienced technician how to fix cars — it's about making sure every team member understands how the shop operates and is set up for success.
