This position is dedicated to estimating, preconstruction, sales, and business development. Once a project is awarded, it is transitioned to the Project Management team, allowing you to remain focused on estimating and winning work.

Job Details

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior / Chief Estimator to take ownership of the full estimating and sales process from bid invitation through award.

This individual will work closely with company leadership to develop accurate, competitive bids while helping expand relationships and identify new opportunities throughout the Arizona commercial construction market.

Key Responsibilities
Lead complete quantity takeoffs, pricing, and bid preparation for commercial masonry projects.
Utilize Tradesman estimating software for takeoffs, pricing, bid assembly, revisions, alternates, and value engineering.
Review plans, specifications, and scopes to identify inclusions, exclusions, risks, and scope gaps.
Develop accurate estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project costs.
Maintain organized bid files, bid logs, tracking systems, and cost data.
Utilize advanced Excel skills for bid tracking, cost analysis, reporting, and win-rate analysis.
Review bids with company leadership prior to submission to ensure scope alignment and accuracy.
Attend pre-bid meetings, job walks, and other project meetings as needed.
Respond to bid invitations from GCs, owners, and other project partners.
Build and maintain relationships with GCs, owners, preconstruction teams, and trade partners.
Identify and pursue new opportunities through networking, pipeline meetings, outreach, and existing relationships.
Participate in weekly pipeline and business-development meetings.
Track bid volume, win rates, pipeline activity, and overall estimating performance.
Provide a complete and accurate scope package to the Project Management team following project award.
Qualifications
7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
Commercial masonry experience strongly preferred; related commercial construction experience will be considered.
Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, scopes, and quantity takeoffs.
Experience preparing competitive bids for commercial construction projects.
Tradesman estimating software experience highly preferred.
Advanced Excel skills.
Strong understanding of commercial masonry systems and materials, or the ability to quickly develop that knowledge.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfortable developing relationships with GCs, owners, subcontractors, and trade partners.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple bids and priorities simultaneously.
Proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of accountability and ownership.
