Job Summary:


The Electrical Security Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic security and low-voltage electrical systems. This role involves working with access control systems, CCTV cameras, intrusion detection systems, and related electrical components to ensure systems operate reliably and meet client specifications. The technician will work on commercial and industrial sites, performing system installations, diagnostics, and service calls while maintaining compliance with safety and electrical standards. Candidates must be licensed in Maryland or Virginia.

This position features MD/DC/VA area travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, wire, and configure electronic security systems including access control, CCTV, alarm systems, and other low-voltage security equipment.

  • Perform electrical wiring, cable pulling, termination, and device installation for security system components.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic security systems to resolve performance or connectivity issues.

  • Conduct system testing, commissioning, and inspections to ensure proper functionality and compliance with project requirements.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for system installation and troubleshooting.

  • Program and configure security equipment including cameras, controllers, sensors, and network devices.

  • Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to complete installations and service calls efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate documentation including service reports, installation records, and system updates.

  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company policies, electrical codes, and safety regulations.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and system upgrades as needed.

  • Provide technical support and training to customers on the operation of installed security systems.
