Description

Position: Jr. Accountant

Reports to: Accountant

Summary: The Junior Accountant plays a key role in managing high-volume accounts payable and payroll activities for a fast-paced healthcare organization. Responsibilities include invoice processing, account reconciliations, payroll administration, vendor relations, financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes. This position contributes to the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of the organization's financial operations.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enter and process a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently & prepare bi-weekly report to display upcoming invoice payments
  • Perform AP reconciliations, including vendor statements and internal records
  • Review of invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and approval routing
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and handle inquiries
  • Maintain vendor files and ensure all documentation is complete and up to date
  • Assist with month-end close tasks related to Accounts Payable
  • Support ad hoc AP tasks and vendor needs as they arise
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including deductions, taxes, etc
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management as needed
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and reporting
  • Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate employee data and proper communication regarding payroll matters
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll regulations and best practices
  • All other duties as assigned
