DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for a hybrid Inpatient Rehab and Acute Care role requiring 2+ years of experience and orthopedic expertise.
DetailsAcute care hospital setting providing both inpatient rehabilitation and acute care coverage
Patient population includes Medical-Surgical, post-operative, and ICU cases
Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM
No weekends required
40 hours per week
Ability to float between Inpatient Rehab and Acute Care units required
May float to an affiliate hospital nearby depending on volume/census
Any charting system experience preferred
RequirementsMinimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
BLS certification required
State license required if applicable
Orthopedic experience strongly preferred, including total hip and total knee replacement care
Experience with geriatric and neurology patient populations preferred
Skilled in AROM/AAROM/PROM, pain assessment, and strength testing
Proficient in documentation including evaluations, plans of care, and short/long term goals
Experience with equipment such as gait belts, walkers, sliding boards, sit-to-stand lifts, and supplemental oxygen delivery
Knowledge of home exercise programs and patient/family education
Additional InformationMain responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment planning, and discharge planning across inpatient rehab and acute care settings
Candidates local within a 50-mile radius of the hospital are accepted
Maximum RTO allowed is 7 days; if RTO falls during a holiday period, travelers must be willing to work at least one of the three major holidays
First-time travelers are accepted
Previous employees must have a 3-year gap before returning as a traveler
Completion of up to 8 hours of orientation modules within 1 week of assignment confirmation is preferredAmerican Traveler Job ID #P- .
