Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Declinations not accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Qualivis Program - University of Virginia and no current placement allowed at Program: Qualivis Program - University of Virginia.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Level IV NICU experience required. Must be competent in the use of both the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Cardiac PICU experience preferred. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: Any hit on your license must be disclosed. Hits will be sent to UVA leadership for approval prior to proceeding.

Special Requests: Assignment length may vary: 13 or 26 weeks. Travelers are not eligible to return after reaching 365 total assignment days, regardless of time away.

Unit Details: Children’s hospital setting with a pediatric emergency department, Level IV NICU, and PICU for patients younger than 18. Complex congenital heart program caring for patients with congenital cardiac defects, including transplants and ECMO. Neonatal, infant, pediatric, and adolescent patient population. Respiratory therapists care for patients in the NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatrics.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. Every other weekend. Every other holiday. Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays. Self-scheduling model; manager will explain during call. Desired schedule is not guaranteed, but efforts will be made to accommodate.

Floating Requirements: The RT will be required to work in all units of the Children’s Hospital.

3 days maximum time off
