Full job description

Our client, an innovative leader in autonomous vehicle manufacturing, is seeking a Plant Issue Resolution Engineer to join their team. As a Plant Issue Resolution Engineer, you will be part of the Manufacturing Support Department supporting vehicle quality and production efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Plant Issue Resolution Engineer

Location: Fremont, CA

Pay Range: $77/hour + Benefits

What's the Job?

  • Lead triage, containment, and resolution planning of issues identified during general assembly and end-of-line testing for autonomous vehicle fleets and pre-production robotaxi builds.
  • Define and execute short-term containment actions, including rework plans, part quarantine, and build flow protection.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to conduct root cause analysis across design, process, supplier, and manufacturing domains, identifying and prioritizing blockers.
  • Support the implementation of permanent corrective actions (PCA) to prevent recurrence and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reports to monitor issue health, closure rates, and recurrence, enhancing problem-solving processes.

What's Needed?

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
  • 6-8 years of experience in automotive OEMs, robotics, aviation, or other complex hardware systems within manufacturing, product engineering, or sustaining environments.
  • Strong understanding of OEM vehicle electrical systems, wiring harnesses, control units, sensors, and mechanical systems.
  • Proven experience leading root cause analysis and corrective actions in production or field environments, including new product launch support.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
